Your touches stay on your Mac.
Trill reads every touch on your trackpad and every key you press while it runs. Here is everything it keeps, everything it sends, and what it never does with them.
Touches and keys
- Touches are read on your Mac as they happen, to recognise gestures. They are never stored and never sent anywhere.
- Trill never logs which keys you type. To tell a palm brushing the trackpad from a tap, it keeps only the time of the last key you pressed.
- Trill's record of recent gestures lives in memory only, and is gone when Trill quits.
What stays on your Mac
- Your gestures, shortcuts and settings, in a file in your Library's Application Support folder, with up to ten backups beside it.
- Your license key, in your Keychain.
- When your trial started, and when updates were last checked, with Trill's other preferences.
- A record of any macOS setting Trill changed for you, so Put back can restore it exactly.
What goes online, and only this
- License activation, to Dodo Payments, our merchant of record: your key and a name for this Mac made of its model and a random tag, like "MacBook Pro 7F3A". Never your computer's own name. A licensed copy checks again every 30 days so a refund can be honoured.
- Update checks, to everydaymactools.com, at most once a day. They send nothing about you or your Mac.
The release build fails if networking appears anywhere in Trill outside those two parts.
What we never do
No account, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers. If Trill ever crashes, macOS's own crash reporter is the only one that knows.
Buying
Checkout happens on Dodo Payments, who handle your payment details under their own privacy policy. We receive your email address and the order, so we can send your key and help if something goes wrong.
