Inkling privacy
A little space. Just yours.
Inkling stores your note library on your Mac. We don’t run an Inkling account service or collect analytics about what you write.
Last updated 3 October 2026
Your notes and backups
Notes, attachments, version history, and daily database backups are stored locally in your user Library. This release does not include automatic iCloud sync. Exported files go to the location you choose. Your Mac’s own backup or cloud-folder settings may separately copy those files.
Licence activation
Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments. To activate or validate your licence, Inkling sends your licence key and activation information to Dodo Payments. Activation also sends your Mac’s device name. Licence credentials and the trial start time are stored locally, including in the macOS Keychain.
Updates and web links
Inkling checks an update feed on everydaymactools.com. When you capture a web URL from the clipboard, the app requests that web address to fetch its page title. These connections reveal ordinary network information, including your IP address, to the destination service. Your note library is not uploaded.
This website
This Inkling website uses no analytics trackers or advertising cookies. Its fonts and images are served from Everyday Mac Tools. Our web server may keep standard access and error logs. Checkout takes you to Dodo Payments, whose own privacy terms apply.
Screen sharing
Inkling includes an option to hide its windows from supported screen-capture and sharing methods. This is a convenience setting, not encryption or a guarantee against every capture method.
