I forgot a password

Hushbox cannot recover or reset package or vault passwords. Try the exact capitalization, spaces, and keyboard layout you used. Check your password manager and the package hint.

A package will not open

Confirm it ends in .hush, ask the sender to share the SHA-256 checksum if possible, and make sure you have enough free space for the restored contents. A changed or incomplete package is rejected rather than partially restored.

Moving files into the vault

When “Move originals to Trash” is on, originals go to the normal macOS Trash only after encryption succeeds. Check the vault item before emptying Trash.
