How to convert AAC audio to MP3 on a Mac

Converting AAC audio to MP3 on a Mac means re-encoding: AAC and MP3 are both lossy, so the file is decoded and then compressed again into the new format. AAC and MP3 are both lossy, which changes the math

Manatee keeps the file where it is and never touches the original. Start it by dragging the AAC file onto the menu-bar icon, dropping it into the app window, or right-clicking in Finder and choosing Fix with Manatee.
