The deal, in plain words.

The licence

One purchase gives you a perpetual licence to use Manatee on the Macs you personally use, with every future update included. It is a licence, not a sale of the software itself: you may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute it.

The trial

The first 24 hours after install are free, with every feature. After that the app asks you to buy. Nothing is taken from you at the end of a trial; files you already fixed stay fixed.

Refunds

If Manatee is not what you hoped, email hey@everydaymactools.com within 14 days of purchase and you get a full refund, no reason required. The licence key is then deactivated.

What Manatee promises, and doesn’t

Manatee recovers what can be recovered from a damaged file and tells you how much that was. It does not promise that any particular file can be repaired; data that has been lost cannot be invented. It does promise never to modify your original.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record. Your card details never reach us.

Open source inside

Manatee bundles ffmpeg, which is licensed under the LGPL and GPL. In accordance with those licences, the ffmpeg build included in Manatee and its source are available on request from hey@everydaymactools.com. Manatee itself is not open source.

Liability

Manatee is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Caretopia Network Private Limited is not liable for loss arising from its use. Because Manatee never modifies originals, the practical risk is low, but keep backups anyway; that is good advice with any software.
